Organizational Profile

Mission Statement Vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live. Mission statement: Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Detailed Description Habitat for Humanity knows that a safe, decent, affordable home is fundamental to a family forging a path out of poverty. In a Habitat house, families find better health, more financial freedom, independence, and a stability and security that far too many families simply can't achieve without a helping hand. Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat works toward our vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat for Humanity’s neighborhood revitalization work transforms communities into vibrant, safe places to live for current and future residents. Neighborhood revitalization embraces an integrated, collaborative approach to community development. Local Habitat for Humanity offices work in coalition with neighborhood residents and partners to address the many elements that contribute to a higher quality of life, including health care, safety and economic development, in addition to housing.
